Job Description

Orange County manufacturing company seeking an experienced PAYROLL/ACCOUNTING CLERK who is PROFICIENT with ADP payroll systems and had sound Excel proficiency. The successful candidate will have demonstrated hands-on experience and be knowledgeable of accurately processing biweekly payroll.

The position will report to the Controller and have the responsibility for critical aspects of the Company's accounting operations, reconciliations, financial systems, report preparation, and the implementation of related key internal controls.

Essential requirements:

Detail-oriented; must be able to deal with difficult, sensitive and confidential issues; demonstrate decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills; strong organizational, time management and prioritization abilities, and with excellent communication skills.

  • Process biweekly payroll and maintain updated payroll records in accordance with company policy;
  • Update the ADP payroll system (hires, benefits, badges, etc.); Issue timecard badges
  • Process vendor checks along with the proper supporting documentation;
  • Responsible for weekly check run and timely disbursement of checks;
  • Effectively communicates with customers and vendors and interacts with all levels of employees, departments as needed to complete assignments;

§ Must be friendly, hard-working and show initiative and willing to roll-up their sleeves and get involved with the daily details on a regular basis;

§ Attention to detail in relation all tasks, accounting controls and deadlines;

§ Prepare daily/monthly reports, accompanying schedules and worksheets;

§ Ability to analyze date and provide clear reporting and feedback in relations to data being presented;

§ Advanced hands-on experience using Microsoft and Outlook systems (Word, Excel, pivot tables, etc);

§ Advise management on financial issues as they relate to cash flow;

§ Assist in month and year end closing of the financial statements;

§ Aid with related external audits. Participate in the preparation of assigned schedules and documentation requests in a timely manner.

Requirements:

§ 5 yrs. demonstrated equivalent experience;

§ BA degree in Accounting or Finance A PLUS;

§ Proficient use with MS Word and MS Excel.

§ Excellent organizational and setting timeline skills;

§ Strong sense of customer service - internal and external;

§ Critical sense of urgency to all calls and/or requests;

§ ADP payroll experience a MUST;

§ Fast-paced manufacturing environment experience required (apparel manufacturing a PLUS).

Daily on-time and attendance - Standard office hours 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing production environment is essential.

Verified references, physical and drug testing will be required. Compensation: Hourly position, $18.00/hr.
