Job Description

Permanent hire for an experienced Lead Industrial Electrician for 2nd shift.

  • Work with maintenance leadership (maintenance manager, shift leads, maintenance planner, technical buyer) to create asset care strategies that focus on failure prevention and equipment reliability * Work with equipment manufacturers and vendors to identify solutions to recurring issues and improvements to productivity * Lead execution of work specified during planned maintenance (preventative, corrective, predictive, improvement) window including coordination of required parts, personnel, and communication of start-up activities. * Failure Prevention: Participate in problem solving activities and recommend changes to the care of * assigned equipment. * Leader in problem solving methodologies such as FMEA, Why/Why Analysis, and RCA. * Component failure analysis: Evaluate equipment failures. * Implement and monitor preventative actions * Develop and implement lubrication program * Understand equipment maintenance metrics and productivity goals and use reliability metrics to track progress of equipment. * Promote and track reliability growth. Become familiar with plant metrics and communicate them (including reliability, system performance, productivity, and others.) * Accountable for specified machine center performance * Become a key resource for ensuring maintainability and reliability on all incoming equipment by driving life cycle cost (LCC), Vendor requirements, and driving the use of standard components * Evaluate and review recommended maintenance procedures * Update and communicate component and machine installation standards * Identify and implement reliability technologies: * Vibration analysis, oil analysis, ultrasonic inspections, and infrared (using contractors where needed) * Implement/monitor condition based monitoring program * Bring technologies in house where available * Support the program by analyzing data and implementing preventative action * Educate technical community on the use of these tools * Gather reports, analyze, and use information from data collection systems * Support day to day equipment problems, identify and implement solutions * Promote and participate in preventive maintenance development. * Technical leader on Continuous Improvement teams * Support and Lead Continuous Improvement initiatives * Promote the use of maintenance metrics (Planned maintenance rate, schedule compliance, PM completion, reliability, etc.) * Understand and develop required maintenance skills, assessments, and training. * Understand technical community roles and relationships. * Understand maintenance culture and its strengths and opportunities. * Utilize CMMS system * Assist with the development of short-term goals and objectives. * Coordinate equipment improvement efforts with maintenance, engineering, and operations. * Identify maintenance methods as part of the Planned Maintenance process.

  • Qualifications * High School Education or Associates degree in Engineering or other technical field * Industrial Technical courses in Industrial Technology * 5 years work experience in the food manufacturing industry, industrial electrical and mechanical repairs and technical support for industrial equipment and ancillary equipment * Strong team player - good communication (written and verbal), with the ability to train others * A person with recognized technical capability, equipment and component knowledge, and practical experience and technical capabilities in the following areas: * Materials: metals, plastics, elastics, composites, coatings, etc. * Fabrication methods: welding, machining, surface treatment, etc. * Engineering skills: reading prints, measuring, and specifying * Fastening and joining: methods and materials * Mechanical, electrical system knowledge * Lubrication principles * Demonstrated skills in the following areas: * Teaching and training ability (of reliability practices relative to this level * Problem solving skills (ability to identify and implement solutions) * Leadership * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Working effectively in a team environment, positive attitude * Computer proficiency, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook etc. * Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, GMP and other quality programs * Ability to work in a warm or cold environment and around product dust * Ability to work independently with high quality and productivity * Willing to work flexible hours and frequent overtime including weekends * Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, blueprints, diagrams, schematics, equipment instructions, requirements and business correspondences. * Ability to safely lift a minimum of 50 pounds * Must be able to stand for long periods of time * Must be able to work in an environment exposed to milk, egg, mustard, peanuts, fish, sulfites, sesame, soy, tree nuts, and wheat allergens.
