Accounting Specialist

Growing screen printer in South Orange County seeking an experienced hands-on Accounting Specialist. Will report to the Controller and have the responsibility for critical aspects of the Company's accounting operations, reconciliations, financial systems, report preparation, and the implementation of related key internal controls.

Must be friendly, hard-working and show initiative and willing to roll-up their sleeves and get involved with the daily details on a regular basis. This position will support the accounting department's tactical duties. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Attention to detail in relation to AR/AP controls and deadlines;
  • Prepare daily/monthly reports, accompanying schedules and worksheets;
  • Ability to analyze date and provide clear reporting and feedback in relations to data being presented;
  • Advanced use of Microsoft and Outlook systems (Word, Excel, pivot tables, etc);
  • Advise management on financial issues as they relate to cash flow;
  • Assist in month and year end closing of the financial statements;
  • Monthly reconciliation of Cash, AR, AP, payroll, accrued payroll, and PTO. In addition to associated journal entries;
  • Aid with related external audits. Participate in the preparation of assigned schedules and documentation requests in a timely fashion;
  • Assist in accounting AR/AP/Payroll as needed;
  • Miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

  • Requirements:

    • 2+ yrs. demonstrated equivalent experience
    • BA degree in Accounting or Finance a plus.
    • Advanced experience with MS Word and MS Excel.
    • Proficiency with multiple financial software packages
    • Demonstrated proficiency in financial reporting and report development including financial performance analysis, forecasting and budget preparation.
    • Excellent organizational and setting time line skills
    • Strong sense of customer service - internal and external.
    • Critical sense of urgency to all calls and/or requests
    • Daily on-time and attendance - Standard office hours 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain quality relationships with production team members, customers and vendors; be self-motivated with the ability to effectively present information and communicate clearly either verbally or written; give and take directions accurately; ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing production environment is essential.

    Being detailed oriented, organized, multi-tasked and able to meet the daily time lines critical to accounting are essential to your success. Experience in the apparel industrial is a plus.
