Job Description


  • Material handling equipment:
  • Set different blends according to job requirements.
  • Maintain constant flow of material between the in-feed hoppers, the blender, the crystallizer, and the dryer.
  • Troubleshoot any feeding issues.
  • Manage the filling of regrind gaylords, label the gaylords and ship them.
  • Operate the crystallizer:
  • Set the optimum processing parameters for different blends, and for variations in bulk density of the material. Adjust temperatures, dosing rates, and drum speed to achieve proper crystallization.
  • Monitor for chunks and change process parameters to eliminate it.
  • Operate the dryer:
  • Setup the parameters and ensure it is working properly.
  • Change the filters when necessary.
  • Operate the extruder:
  • Use start-up checklist to make sure the extruder is ready to start.
  • Identify when temperatures are correct for start-up.
  • Set up the extruder to make different sheet widths and thicknesses.
  • Set up the silicone coating system.
  • Check the quality of the sheet. Check for correct width, thickness, and silicone coating.
  • Identify and correct for quality problems.
  • Change the melt filter on the extruder.
  • Pack rolls to ship and or store
  • Do the preventive maintenance on all the equipment assigned, as changing filters as needed (vacuum pump, extruder melt screen, & dryer aftercooler), lubricate and inspect the equipment.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve quality, efficiency, safety, and hygiene of the operation.
  • Possibility to become a Team Leader if acquired the necessary skills. The Team Leader will be in charge of witting procedures, implementing procedures, train the team in the extrusion process and supervise the team during the shift.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Must be able to spend all day on his/her feet.
  • Must be able to occasionally reach into the machine.
  • Must be able to drive a forklift truck after provided the proper training.
  • Must be able to lift/push weights up to 50lb.





SCHEDULE


12 hours shift (5am - 5-pm or 5pm - 5am). The work days switch between:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday;
  • Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Those weeks the employee will be paid for 40 hours.
