Get to know our Client:

Our client is the leading processor of shrimp and other frozen foods. The Company holds a rather significant market share of the shrimp industry in North America. Our client sources only the freshest ingredients from around the globe to ensure only the best product is manufactured at their facility. Our Client is currently seeking a Bagger Machine Operator.

In this role you will be responsible for placing products safely and effectively in appropriate packages, keeping up with product output, maintaining a smooth and timely production line and ensuring the packaging equipment stays in good working condition.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • ​Maintains an understanding of the production schedule for each shift and how it influences the work to be done
  • ​Understands and prepares for the specific film to be used that shift based on orders being run
  • ​Understands the packaging equipment being used and how to adjust when needed. Identifies packaging defects quickly and makes adjustments immediately ​
  • Cleans and uses the equipment effectively assuring that it remains in good working order
  • ​Checks all packages for correct dates, codes, weights, and cut lines and intervenes immediately with machine adjustments as needed
  • ​Manages film changeovers quickly and assures that the production line continues to run smoothly and efficiently with no unnecessary delays
  • ​Supports the implementation and monitoring of food safety and food quality standards, regulations and laws and records and documents according to procedures, notifying leaders if there are any concerns or opportunities for improvement
  • ​Assures the implementation of all identified food quality and food safety standards, laws, good manufacturing practices, training, and continuous improvement
  • ​Remains current in training expectations ​
  • Keeps work environment clean, safe and positive



Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • high school diploma 
  • 2 years of progressive work experience, preferably in the food products industry.
  • working knowledge of food safety and food quality standards and regulations such as SQF and environmental safety regulations along with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Requires basic mathematical skills to be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide and make fine adjustments in equipment settings.
  • Requires effective and clear written and oral communication skills fluent in English to clearly communicate with other team members
