Job Description

Position Overview:

The factory Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the shop including supervisory responsibilities, development and implementation of policies and procedures, overseeing maintenance and repairs of machinery, and ensuring fulfillment of productivity goals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and coordinate activity in a machine shop, and make sure operations are carried out efficiently and safely.
  • Train employees in the proper use of equipment, enforce safety regulations, assign tasks, and oversee employees' work.
  • Interpret blueprints and develop plans for how to complete a project.
  • Upgrade and maintain machinery, order parts, and ensure repair records are kept up to date.
  • Read and understand mechanical drawings and blueprints/specifications, as well as meet with other department heads to ensure that the company's productivity goals are met.
  • Participate in and manage weekly production meetings with management team and shop staff.
  • Understand and implement company policies, including quality control and safety plans.
  • Motivate, teach, and schedule subordinates and review timesheets to meet company processing and manufacturing goals.
  • Create written shop procedures.

Other duties and administrative tasks as assigned


  • Hands on production/ shop/ manufacturing management needed.
  • Mechanical Engineering background & aptitude required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Transformer and/or reactor manufacture & testing experience is a plus.
  • ISO knowledge and experience is a plus.
  • Auto Cad experience is a plus.
  • Welding experience is a plus.
