Job Description

We have an immediate opening for an Entry Level or Experienced mechanical engineer.

Job Requirements:


* Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and other related design specifications.
* Capable of applying engineering concepts to solve basic technical problems and the ability to recognize and recommend solutions.
* Ability to work extended periods of time on a computer.
* Proficiency in PTC Creo Parametric 3D solid modeling and analysis software and Microsoft Office products.
* Experience with manufacturing processes, standards, and mechanical documentation control are a plus.
* Experience in the Marine and Textile industries are a plus.

* Support senior engineering personnel in the design processes including conceptual design, theoretical analysis, creation of prototypes to demonstrate proof of concepts, work with suppliers to ensure that designs meet requirements utilizing fundamental mechanical engineering principles, theories and techniques. Receive close direction and instruction from senior engineering staff.

* Design fixture, hardware, and other components to implement efficient test methods. Assist in definition and execution of testing ensuring design performance and quality requirements.
* Order material required for prototype and initial production. Manage receipt of material through First Article inspection.
* Hands-on prototyping and practices.
* Generate and review the technical content of drawings, engineering specifications, perform analysis, research specifications and support product development activities.
o Perform various aspects of engineering analysis such as: computing dimensions and loads, performing tolerance studies, and calculating stresses and strains.
o Produce final release drawing packages to include all piece part drawings, assemblies, bill of materials, and required release documents.
o Support technical publications in the development of customer documentation.
* Assist the manufacturing team during the New Product Introduction (NPI) to ensure product reliability
* Initiate and process engineering changes. Coordinates the implementation of those changes with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Customer Service and Product Team personnel.
* Other functions will vary based on the assigned work area. May rotate assignments to gain additional business experience.
* Some light lifting may be required.
* Some travel may be required.

Monday - Friday 7am-5:30pm salary based on experience
