Lyneer Staffing Solutions is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant for our National Reference Medical Laboratory. This is an excellent opportunity for recent medical training school or college graduates. Warehouse, package handlers, and light industrial experience a plus!
This is a contract to possible hire position!
Medical Lab Assistant hours: 6:30pm-3am Monday -Thursday with alternating Saturdays-The Saturdays you would work you would either go in late or have Friday off.


Medical lab Assistant pay rate: 11.50 an hour

Medical lab assistant Responsibilities
* Receive and check in samples as they are delivered to the laboratory
* Identify discrepancies, validity, stabilities
* Sort and code according to department guidelines
* Entry patient demographics utilizing multiple data base systems
* Prepare laboratory specimens (blood, urine, stool, sputum, body fluids, etc.) for various technical areas prior to laboratory analysis
* Sorting, racking and delivering samples
* Processing 40-70 samples per hour
* Storing, retrieving, and disposing of samples during testing process and post retention
* Maintain a clean, well-stocked, organized work area
* Follow all Standard Operating Procedures including safety and quality standards

Required Skills and Qualifications
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Accurate and efficient alpha numeric data entry
* Ability to work with accuracy and speed while paying close attention to detail
* Effective written and verbal communication
* Able to handle stressful situations caused by high volume and deadlines
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
* Prolonged standing or sitting may be required
* Must be able to adjust schedule to meet business unit requirements, which may include extended hours.
* Must have the mental alertness and high energy required to appropriately perform job,Work effectively in fast paced environment with multiple priorities
Preferred education, skills
* Specimen processing experience or training
* Medical Assistance/Phlebotomy skills and comfort handling all types of samples
* Strong memorization skills
* Able to decipher relevance of information on requisitions
* Have an understanding of HIPAA regulations and Universal Precautions when dealing with patient samples

Prior lab experience would be preferred but not necessary, good communication, keyboarding experience a plus, basis navigation skills for entering data in lab system. Must be able to lift 50 lbs, stand and walk most of the shift, perform repetitive tasks, team player, quick learner, will be touching lab specimens will use proper gown and equipment.
