Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Safety: Develops, promotes and enforces safety SOP’s in the workplace by actively demanding that

employees work safely by setting and personally demonstrating safe work habits

  • Employee Training: Responsible for the development and training of employees under his/her span of control. Also Responsible for communication of any employee issues that may require management attention, including disciplinary actions
  • Overall Operations Knowledge: By working to understand all aspects of production at the facility the supervisor will demonstrate the requirement for cooperation and teamwork
  • Audit and review all SOPs: Train operators with plant SOPs
  • Maintain optimum quality and consistency of products produced by the plant
  • Operations and Maintenance Department interface: Ability to effectively communicate operational and mechanical concerns to the appropriate personnel
  • Demonstrate cost and quality consciousness at all times and in all decisions
  • Manage workforce scheduling: Manages fluctuating production demands and personnel coverage
  • Supervise Production personnel during shift: Provide feedback, discipline and training to accomplish the shift assignments
  • The Shift Leader: Performs other duties as assigned and recognizes that priorities can and will shift quickly to adjust to the demands of other departments for the overall benefit of the plant; additionally, it must be recognized that assigned shift rotations may change

Job Requirements

Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate in the English language
  • Ability to safely handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to work well with others and ability to work independently
  • Previous supervisory and/or process experience preferred
  • Personify the high standards necessary to accomplish the goals of the Company
  • High school graduate. College course work or a college degree a plus
  • Basic reading, writing and mathematical skills required
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, standard operating procedures and machinery
  • Proficient in operating computers and automation controls
  • Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient manner
  • Good follow through ability: ability to adhere to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise
  • Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules set forth; promotes the Company safety standards; does not take inappropriate risks
  • Maintains a feeling of pride in work; strives to achieve all goals
  • Ability to work within a cohesive team/unit
