Job Description

Permanent immediate position for an experienced pharmaceutical compounder/liquid formulator. Day shift hours M-F

Weigh all raw materials and formulate following cGMP batch record instruction to delivery high quality products to fulfill the needs of the supply chain. Break down, clean, and prepare wet parts for filling. Performs all duties safely and in accordance with written procures and guidelines.


  • Formulate following cGMP batch record instructions and the safe operation of compounding equipment
  • Inspect raw materials ensuring the ingredients are properly released and within date
  • Acquire from inventory and weigh all raw materials for batch compounding
  • Determine readiness and cleanliness of equipment in advance of schedule formulations
  • Perform cleanup of work area and equipment, and return unused materials to inventory for later use
  • Operates material handling equipment, including forklift, pallet jacks, etc. as needed
  • Perform all required sampling of incoming and expired materials for release testing
  • Proper use of PPE in accordance with current SOP guidelines and procedures
  • Follows established safety guidelines, regulations and processes; assures proper safety precautions are followed with respect to Safety Data Sheet "SDS"
  • Ability to cross train


  • Perform cleaning on production equipment according to company policies and procedures
  • Notify maintenance of any equipment that is damaged or in need of repair
  • Return clean equipment to the proper storage locations
  • Maintain good housekeeping and organization of the cleaning station
  • Participates as a member of the production team supporting filling, labeling, and packaging operations as needed. Works to promote team, efficiency and meet production schedules


  • Minimum high School diploma or equivalent with good math skills
  • Minimum 2 year's experience as a liquid formulator or compounder in an FDA regulated industry
  • Working knowledge of mixing and batching methods and procedures; safety practices and procedures related to forklift operation, basic safety precautions in handling chemicals, various terminology associated with chemicals; general warehouse practices and methods
  • Perform basic mathematical computations in calculating weights and measure, percentages, etc.
  • Maintain confidentiality in relation to proprietary formulas, methods, processes and production procedures
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Word and Excel is desired
  • Knowledge of cGMP, SOP, LOTO and OSHA regulations required


  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders unassisted
  • Ability to bend, stoop carry, grasp, kneel, and lift without assistance
  • Required to lift a minimum of 25 -50 lbs. without assistance
