Job Description

Lyneer Staffing Solutions is seeking a Phlebotomist for National Reference Laboratory.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Phlebotomist with 2 years of experience.


Phlebotomist hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm


As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for filling laboratory tests and preparing orders for pick up. You will follow department protocols at all times, maintaining proper sterilization of equipment and sanitation of exam areas.


Other responsibilities of the Phlebotomist role include:


Matching laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes

Drawing blood from veins by vacuum tube, syringe, butterfly venipuncture methods

Drawing blood from capillaries by dermal punctures, such as heel or finger stick methods

Disposing of blood, and other biohazard fluids

Organizing and clean blood-drawing trays, ensuring all instruments are sterile

Collecting fluid or other samples, using appropriate collection procedures

Collecting specimens at specific time intervals for tests

Drug testing experience a plus


The phlebotomist will be required to float. Must have a clean driving record, reliable transportation, and mileage is reimbursed

Job Requirements

  • Prepare blood and blood components
  • Collect blood samples from patients
  • Collect blood specimens by venipuncture or capillary puncture
  • Drawing blood and other specimens from patients
  • Obtain blood specimens and collect non-blood specimens such as urine, for laboratory testing
  • Obtain blood cultures and collect blood specimens according to requirements
  • Obtain blood specimens by performing venipunctures
  • Collect blood primarily through venipuncture
  • Process blood specimens for testing in the laboratory
  • Collect and process blood specimens for testing
  • Collect urine drug specimens, paternity specimens and legal blood alcohol specimens following protocols
  • Obtain blood specimens by performing venipuncture and finger sticks
  • Collect blood samples from patients by venipuncture or microtechniques
  • Draw blood, phlebotomy certification
  • Process blood specimens for testing in the laboratory
  • Collect blood specimens from patient veins and fingers
  • Collect blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques
  • Package specimens and requisitions immediately after blood draw
  • Explain blood collection procedure to patient
  • Identify patient and select venipuncture equipment appropriate for test, draw blood specimens
