SUMMARY: The Shipping/Packaging Clerk is responsible for ensuring the timely picking, packaging and shipping of product.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned

  • Answer department phones and emails as needed.
  • Stock and maintain finished goods using FIFO.
  • Complete all needed commercial export paperwork.
  • Communicate any shipping delays with Customer Service and Shipping Supervisor.
  • Pick and pack finished goods items for shipment using pick tickets.
  • Operate forklift to transport shipments to/from the storage area and store material in racks.
  • Prepare documents, labels, bills of lading and special instructions to route shipments.
  • Input order information into Macola, Wisys and carrier databases.
  • Take part in year-end and general inventory procedures
  • Participate in the hand unloading of trailers as required.
  • File and maintain shipping documents as required per SOP.
  • Maintain an orderly and organized work area.
  • Must be willing and available to work overtime, particularly at the end of month and end of quarters.
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time.

  • QUALITY ASSURANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: The Shipping/Packaging Clerk must comply with the following quality system requirements including but not limited to:

  • Use only formally approved procedures, records, documents and specifications known as "Control Documents" (e.g., device history records, data collection forms, drawings, procedures, and specifications).
  • Immediately bring to attention of his or her supervisor or the Quality Assurance department any possible deviations from specified Standard Operating Procedures or Work Instructions he or she may notice.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions relating to the functions preformed.
  • All finished goods must be stored in such a way that older lots are used before newer lots (First In First Out %3D FIFO).
  • Only products that are inspected, released and signed by QA are released.
  • The work areas have been adequately cleaned in accordance with approved procedures.
